St. Paul's Lutheran Church

A Community in Christ

A Reconciled in Christ Congregation of the ELCA

Welcome

Welcome to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a community of believers coming together in faith.

We are pleased to have you with us. The greeter who welcomes you, the usher who guides you, and all of us invite you to join us in worship and in fellowship.

After the late service, we host a reception with refreshments where you can become better acquainted with members of our church.

As you leave the church, please be sure to enter you name and address in our Guest Book located in the Narthex. If you like, we will include you on future mailings so we can keep you abreast of current events at St. Paul's.

Our Vision

Our Church Council is responsible for developing a vision for our future. We embrace the possibilities..

Accepting the challenge to open our hearts and minds, St. Paul's commits itself to live, love and serve as children of God in partnership with the community. We trust that with God all things are possible. Building upon our faith in Jesus Christ and upon our rich history, we embrace the possibilities of:

  • Responding in love to the hurts and hopes of people in our church and community;
  • Being good stewards by sharing and caring for the gifts God has given us;
  • Providing a place of refuge, rest and renewal;
  • Inviting others to join and celebrate the journey of faith.

Worship

We worship together, a community in Christ:

  • Through our liturgy we learn the message of the WORD, reflect on our shortcomings, and ask forgiveness which is granted by God's grace.
  • We offer prayers and praise to God who created us, redeemed us, and who continues to sustain us.
  • Sacred music stirs us. Bible readings and the sermon reveal God's WORD of hope, comfort and challenge.
  • We are reminded of God's gracious love for us through Jesus Christ, as we celebrate Holy Communion at every worship service.
  • Children are welcome and invited to come up to the front for the children's sermon. Younger children may use our supervised nursery for the remainder of the service.
  • We close each service with the call: "Go in peace, server the Lord", and the response, "Thanks be to God."

Service and Fellowship

The unconditional love of God is a gift, one that calls us, in turn, to help create in our midst a community of love, compassion and justice. It is important for each of us to discern the gifts we can offer to help in the building of this community.

Much of the work of St. Paul's is accomplished through six volunteer ministries, which are described in the following paragraphs. Participation in these activities lightens the burdens and leads to genuine fellowship.

Social groups at St. Paul's also foster fellowship through the sharing of interests and activities. The Young Adults Group, Primetime Fellowship, Group Dinners, and the Sword and Shield Club are to name a few.
