And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:17 NIV)

A Christmas Tradition

Christmas candle CHRISTMAS has always been a special and spiritual time of the year for me. I am a child once again and fascinated with the meaning of Christmas and everyone's reaction to the season. The spirit of giving is amazing. It can be seen and felt everywhere.

I was always so busy baking, decorating, wrapping, and doing all the preparations for the holiday season! I was never on time with my Christmas cards, even though it was important to me to wish all my family, friends, and neighbors a joyous holiday. Many years, cards did not seem to celebrate God's gift to us in Christ as a personal experience.

I decided to have an open house to give a personal greeting to each of those so special in my life. I planned it on December 23rd, in the midst of all the hustle and bustle, so people could take a relaxing break from the busy activity that dominates Christmas -- just a time to say "Merry Christmas!"

This is a precious time and has become an annual event in my life. It reminds me that Christ is the reason for the season.

I Am So Glad
When Christmas Comes!

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light;
they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death,
upon them hath the light shined.(Isaiah 9:2 KJV)
