Hymn: "Lord, Dismiss Us With Thy Blessing" Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. (I John 3:18 NIV) |

The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (L.W.M.L.) has been an active organization at Faith from the very beginning of the congregation. The group is an auxiliary of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, organized to develop and maintain a greater mission awareness among the women of synod.
The L.W.M.L. meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the church. There is no meeting in July.
One of the ongoing projects of the L.W.M.L. for many years has been the collecting of labels and UPC symbols from products for Bethesda Lutheran Home. The ladies of the L.W.M.L. are rarely without a project and their work blesses all concerned.
A nursery is provided during the worship service each Sunday. The nursery is staffed by the ladies of the church. They are volunteers, and they serve on a rotating schedule. This service helps parents of young children attend and participate in worship
Children who are three or older are invited to attend Sunday School activities and classes.
TopActivities for children and youth are coordinated by the Christian Education Committee. The first and foremost goal is to serve our young people by providing a Bible-based, Christ-centered Sunday School program. We urge all our members to bring their children to Sunday School because of the spiritual and moral benefit and the Bible knowledge gained through regular attendance.
Guests are welcome at Sunday School! Please invite a child to come and learn about Jesus.
We have a two-year confirmation program for youth. The program is usually entered at seventh grade. Classes are held after school on Wednesday afternoons from September through May. Our confirmation class youth have the opportunity to serve as acolytes.
Our teens and middle-schoolers enjoy getting together. Activities are planned periodically. They are encouraged to assume responsibilities within the church as they mature. The Mid-South District also provides workshops, camps, and other fellowship opportunities for Lutheran youth from this part of the U.S.
All our members are invited to take an active part in our Christian Education program. Volunteers teach Sunday School classes, work in Vacation Bible School, and help with other fun and service events that are planned throughout the year. Our Christian Education program is a wonderful opportunity to put gifts and talents to God's use.
TopActivities and fellowship for adults include the occasional potluck dinner and the soup suppers of the Lent and Advent seasons. LAFF (Lutheran Adults Fun and Fellowship) meets throughout the year and is much enjoyed.
Many of our fellowship opportunities involve doing the work of our church together! The comradeship of working together for the Lord is a good basis for building meaningful friendships with good people.
Adult Bible Class on Sunday mornings and the mid-week Bible Study are other opportunities for us to grow in the Lord and to become acquainted with each other.
TopWe as Christian individuals have the privilege and responsibility to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the people of our community, showing God's love in our daily lives and encouraging our neighbors and friends to worship with us.
Our Christian witness is most effective when it is presented in a natural and spontaneous way. Training in personal witnessing (offered by the Board of Evangelism) can help make that easier.
In addition, we invite our church members to volunteer to make various types of calls, to serve as "greeters" at church, to serve on the Board of Evangelism, and to work in the formal evangelism programs coordinated by the Board of Evangelism.

A small but active Thrivent group is affiliated with Faith Lutheran Church. The activities and contributions of this organization have benefitted our church and community tremendously. Thrivent is a mutual benefit organization that offers various services such as insurance and financial planning to its members. The benefit is returned to the church through the financial support of Thrivent and the volunteer work of the Thrivent members.
A few of the projects which our Thrivent group has sponsored have been CPR classes at our church, Sunday School and youth activities, and financial help for needy families and storm victims. We appreciate the dedication, work, and support of this group!
The men of Faith Lutheran Church periodically meet for an evening of fellowship and planning. They welcome suggestions from the congregation for projects, activities, and programs. You can place your ideas in the box on the kitchen counter.
The Altar Guild aids us by preparing the chancel for worship and the Sacraments and also by cleaning the sacramental vessels after the services. The celebration of the Lord's Supper is held at least two times a month and also on all festivals of the Godhead.
The scheduling of altar flowers is also an activity of the Altar Guild. You are encouraged to place flowers on the altar for special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries or whenever you may desire. A flower chart is in the hall on the bulletin board. Opportunities are given for contributing to the purchase of flowers at special times of celebration such as Christmas and Easter.
TopMembers of the congregation have opportunities for special participation in our worship services.
Youth in confirmation classes (seventh and eighth grades) have the opportunity to serve as acolytes. Acolytes light and extinguish the altar candles and assist in the celebration of the Lord's Supper.
If you play an instrument, Pastor will be happy to talk with you about your participation in the music portion of our services. Elders of our congregation help to oversee the worship services and assist in the celebration of the Lord's Supper. Other members of the congregation serve as lay readers.
Those who serve as ushers and greeters help make people feel comfortable and welcome in our services. A nursery is provided by the ladies of the church during the Sunday worship service for families who may need it.
The Altar Guild serves quietly behind the scenes in the important function of preparing the chancel for worship and for the Sacraments and in cleaning the sacramental vessels.
The gifts and talents of God's people may be used in many ways to enhance and aid our worship. Please do not hesitate to speak with Pastor Croom about what you can do.
TopWhen you visit our church, we pray that our worship together will be a blessing to you! Please contact Pastor Redman if you have questions about God or about Faith Lutheran Church. Thank you for visiting our website.
